Christmas Baking Marathon 2010

This year I decided that it would be fun to bake up a bunch of treats and package them up prettily for people at work. For the last month I have been scouring the internet for delicious looking baked goods to give. I narrowed it down to four different kinds of treats.

Homemade Samoas

Chocolate Dipped Ritz Crackers

Crisp Salted Oatmeal White Chocolate Cookies

Aunt Jane's Sugar Cookies (with this frosting)
Ingredients:

4 Cups Flour                  1 tsp. Baking Powder
1 Cup Margarine         1 ½ Cup Sugar
2 Eggs                           1 tsp. Soda
1/3 Cup Milk                  ½ tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Vanilla
Mix flour, baking powder, salt and margarine as for pie crust. In another bowl add the soda to the sugar and when blended add the beaten eggs, milk and vanilla. Roll out on a floured board and cut into desired shapes.
Bake in oven at 375* for 12 to 15 minutes.

I went grocery shopping after work (which was crazy since everyone was out doing last minute Christmas shopping) but kept forgetting things so ended up going to the grocery store 3 times (!!!) not my favorite.

I baked ALL night long. I baked until I thought I would collapse in a heap of flour covered exhaustion. I finished baking and packaging around 4 am and then spent another couple hours cleaning up the disaster that I left in my wake. All in all it went well though. Everything looked and tasted good (I think) and people seemed to like them.

I honestly never want to see another cookie again in my life though and I was kind of grossed out all day as I watched people eat them but that's probably a good thing ;)

Here's how everything ended up....
